Mental Health Awareness Seminar

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! In observance of Mental Health Awareness Month, the Health and Wellness Committee will host a mental health seminar called, "Healthy Mind, Healthy You" on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Gwinnett County Public Library, Duluth Branch in the Meeting Room. The library is located at 3180 Main Street, Duluth, GA 30096. This is a community and awareness event open to the public to empower families to overcome the stigma associated with mental illness. Board certified and licensed mental health professionals and a pharmaceutical subject expert will share their perspectives on the below topics and a yoga instructor will teach breathwork yoga and meditation practices to promote mental health and well-being through self care practices.
-Effects of social media on mental health
-Barriers to mental health services
-Managing psychiatric medication
-Raising mentally healthy children, and
-Promoting mental health and well-being through self-care practices
