Black Maternal Health Week

The Empower Our Families and Advocate for Social Justice committees will be recognizing Black Maternal Health Week. Black Maternal Health Week is recognized each year from April 11-17 to bring attention and action in improving Black maternal health. The theme for this year is “Our Bodies STILL Belong to Us: Reproductive Justice NOW!” Widespread restrictions on abortion care access coupled with rising cases of criminalization due to pregnancy loss continue to widen the gaps of adverse maternal and birth outcomes in the U.S.
